some of you guys know, i wiped the motor in the chevelle, and am currently building a new one.. well i figured while it was out i would replace the body bushings on it.. well it turned into a much further resto than i wanted right now, but it will be better than the car ever was since i got it. i went to get the bushing bolts out, and all the nuts and cages that hold them on broke, and only way to get at them is to cut into the floor. so i went to the trunk and... found this under some patches a made a few years ago.... so i ended up doing this... . mmm sexy goodmark panels..

well, i went into the interior to check out what needed to be done to weld the hole back up i drilled to get at the botls for the mounts, and i found some rust under the rear seat... so you guess it.. this is the frame before... so i might as well, (this is the shady part, im going to be using a peice of channel like in the one of the pictures above. i dont give a nuts, as long as its not rotted through. it needs to hold me over for a few years so i can save for the actual frame off. and just somthing to keep in your mind.. as long as i can borrow a welder again.... and have the cash to finish the motor.. my goal for it being done in Spring is looking good, and a little ahead of schedule. aaron

By the looks of those frame rails it might be worth it to pick the body up and roll the frame out for some cleaning and paint. rusty brake lines are scarey too. One thing leads to another when your working on old cars.

One repair leads to another and to another and next thing you know the body is off the frame. Keep up the good work and don't cut corners, you will regret it later if you do.

thanks guys.
i know the car needs a frame off, but i do not have the money to do it. so im doing one thing at a time, so i can still drive it.
ive owned the car for about 7 years, and this will be the 2nd engine i put in, im on my 3rd rear, and 2nd trans also. first started with patches on the floors. then cab mounts, and frame repairs. then it was motor, and trans. after that was the quarter, but needed outer wheel house, and trunk drop off. then paint, then rearS, then rear suspension, interior mods, new body bushings, but then ended up being trunk floors, and another patching of the frame. all done by yours truely.
oh well, it will be done by spring, and hopfully going 12.99's. not to bad of a job for a 19 year old right?
