Thanks, but so far nothing has worked. couldn't find anything in add/remove programs. tried searching all the files listed. nothing. wen't back through the history in online armor firewall for when my wife said this all started and blocked all programs. downloaded spyhunter3 and ran found 4 unknown trojans and 5 password retrievers and a bunch of other things. had to buy it to remove$30, removed the files. it is still there. downloaded smithfraudfix tried to start in safe mode and got blue stop window. puter won't start in safe mode. went to bed 1:15.
ran spyhunter3 this morning the password retrievers were there with some of the other objects removed and the popup is still there. tried a couple other thing listed on that site with internet options but still there. aol9.0vr works fine no popups click on a program on desktop and it popups. open IE it pops up
I was going to set up a inhome network today for my daughters puter but not till I get ride of this.

FOUND IT: I was going through my setting on AVG anti virus program and saw that resident shield wasn't turned on. I set it, ran an update and shut the computer off last night. When I started it this morning I got another update and clicked on my computer ,resident idenitifed the trojan and put it in the virus vault. the name of it is trojan horse generic 10.frl and was located in C:\win2k\dsaip32b.dll.
