Well i am in the market for a set of aftermarket heads for my SB.
i keep going back and forth on what i want, and what i can afford.
i dont want to spend more than 1200 on a set ready to go for a roller cam.
my first choice were the Patriot Super Street Series in 195cc. next was the AFR Eliminator 195cc now im onto a sert of RHS heads (my friend runs them on a 11:1 388).
what about the big runner/valve vortec heads? or stock vortecs that are worked? but that would put me way more than i want to spend.
i want somthing with about 190cc intake runner as it will be driven on the street more than at the track, but will see alot of track time also. i need low to mid range tq, and streetability.
i wouldnt mind a 180cc runner, as that would make most low to mid range power, but will it not be enough for my cam. 200cc is just too big.
my combo is,
355 10:1cr lunati voodoo roller 60122, 535/55 lift, 231/239 duration (282/290), 110/106. holley 300-36 intake, with 1" carb spacer 3310 750 vac sec holley
so what has everybody run, and what would you recommend.

I think you are right on with the 195 AFR head. 195 Or 200 there will not be a difference. I have 200 cc sportsman steel heads on a 10.3-1 355. The car is regularly street driven and has gone 11.76 at 114 mph. The car drives fine on the street and the motor ran to 7000 on the dyno. It made 430 hp and like 410 on the torque I think. 180 will work but I don't think that the low end torque is going to be much greater. I think you will just wind up with an undersized head if you make any more changes.
