Me and Dan and my oldest son had a great time last night at Maple Grove. Their new take a passenger with you down the quarter mile was a lot of fun for my son and for Dan. Dan talking about politics at 83 mph was so cool probably not smart but was cool. ;D Counted up my time slips today and discovered that I got 7 runs in for the day. Although me and Dan tried getting down the track better on our last run only to red light... All in all wasn't crowded and only had two or three delays all day. But sadly to say I was very disappointed in my times for lack of horsies and some tire hop off the line and a lot of tire spinning. I guess as the track announcer said "El Camino looking types don't hook very well" Pic of Sprint in staging and video of last red light run with Dan on board. s233.photobucket.com/albums/ee9/71malibu400/maple%20grove%205-2-08/

Thanks Chad and Mike. Chad Dan didn't run he didn't have enough break in time on his new trans. and I don't blame him for not wanting to break it...yet... It's embarrassing but my best time was a 16.08 at 83mph. I just couldn't get it to hook up tires were spinning like crazy.

Joe you just bought the car. Track expectations are`nt always what we think. I had a BB Camaro it never did any better than a mid 14. My Chevelle I figured was a slug ran a 13.9 first try. I would work on the traction before ditching that 350. Mike

Thanx Mike I thought it had atleast 15's in it but I guess I need to be glad it ran great and got me to the Grove and back home without any problems at all.

Joe, Thanks for the ride! It was cool to be a passenger going down the track. Definitely another perspective and I really enjoyed it. Like others have said, don't stress the times, you just got it and it will take some time tweaking, My first run I believe was in the 13s and now I am in the 11s. And soon to be back down in the 13s learning and getting used to the 5 speed. You have an awesome car and you are back in the game this year. Enjoy!

Sounds like everyone had a good time, that's what it's all about. Making your car faster is just a result of all the fun So what are the rules for taking a passenger with you? I think they used to let you do this years ago. Rob

The ride-along thing is fun. My wife loves it. At least she did; last Friday the car was going in the 13's so she had to sit in the stands. Not as fun for her... but at least she got a video.
