HELP!!!
O.K. here is the deal. I took the chevelle for a 30 mile drive today. On the way home up my hill I hammered it hard shifting at 5,000 ..usually no big deal. After I parked in the garage I looked under the car as there were some spots, oil anti freeze form past excursions...small no big deal. This time I saw oil dripping from the bellhousing so I followed it up the car and traced it to the distributor where you could see it leaking out. The back of engine has a nice coating of it. I let it sit for 1 hour and it has stopped but I have a 3 inch by 3 inch oil puddle.
My guess is the breathers I just put new foam in are not breathing and the oil is finding a new way out.
What do you think?

you sure it's the distributor and not the back of the intake Sean? do you have an oil senor or a oil gauge connector in the back of your engine? if you haven't already i'd clean it up and take it out for another drive and see what happens when you shut it down again. hope it's nothing serious.

you sure it's the distributor and not the back of the intake Sean? . I double checked it and its coming out of the distributor. Ever since I put on these new shinny valve covers I've had issues. Friday I put new foam in the PCV valve and the breather valve cover dripper gromets. My valve covers do not have drippers on the under side, and of course the rockers squirt right at the holes. I'm guesssing the engine could not breath. I'll take out the foam and see what happens..what a mess! Hope your hand is O.K.

i know what your problems is then Sean...your new valve covers don't have any oil baffles in them do they? Joe No they do not, so I had to buy valve cover gromets with drippers built in them. I bought two from summit that still get full of oil, as the havea slit in the bottom not a baffle. I got one from a buddy of mine with a built in baffle andthat works better but not perfect. The one from my buddy had foam in it so i left it in there. I'll take it out and see what happens.

News Flash .....Oil Update.....the Green Monster roars to life after Pick's pit crew performs some minor adjustments.
I reverted back to my old chrome breather and PCV valve with great results. I changed the oil, plugs and re-set the timing as I accidently retarded it when checking to make sure the distributor was tight. She runs like a Virgin on Prom night!!!!
OCT 27th.....I welcome all those who dare take to the 1320!
That's all the news thats fit to print!
;D ;D ;D
