I just bought a rebuild kit for my carb. Seems my floats are not right and the car dies when I'm hard on the brakes or are making sharp turns. Are there any tips I should now before attempting this task. I'ts been 25 years since I did this, so I just thought I'd ask. Thanks

take your time and watch for flying c-clips, don't lose the instructions. if the carb has plastic or black floats that could be your problem. did the kit come with floats?

Dan Dan thanks for the extra set of eyes last night. It sure was nice to see how clean the carb was after 8 years. Those floats were so far off it was amazing it ran as well as it did. Rick they were brass floats.I tweeked the choke a little this morning and everything is running great. I wish I could make Macungie tonight...have to be on QVC between 6-7pm and 11-12pm. Time to make the donuts ;D

sean do you work for QVC? I worked there for 5 years, and my mother still works in vendor relations. I worked for QVC from 1988 to 1998. For the past 10 years my wife and I have owend our own manufacturing representatives company. We find products and bring them to QVC and we both go on TV and sell products. I've been living there this week as it is my busy time of year. I've been on QVC 11 times this week so far, at all hours of the day and night. Sleep is over rated.
