I just received my new Holley carb from Summit today. I have it all hooked up and ready to fire for tomorrow morning. The old Edelbrock 750 that was on there was giving me some problems lately so I took the plunge. The Eddy was rebuilt a few times over the last 10 years I've had it. For some unknown reason the floats kept re-adjusting themselves. Don't ask my how that happened. I can't wait to fire her up and see if there is a big difference.

Well things did not go so good with the new carb. My engine is so detuned because of the huge cam that I have so little vaccum that it would take massive changes in carb set up to get it right. I'm rebuilding the engine this winter to a more stock type set up, low end torch, dual palne intake and headers so I'm just going to wait and hook it up to the rebuilt motor when done. I did fine out my stock fuel pump was only putting out 3.5 lbs of fuel pressure, so I swapped in a holley fuel pump I had orderd a while back. It seems to run much better with the new pump.

I guess you decided not to go with the ProForm Carb body. How much vacuum is your current motor putting out?

Rob, I just ordered a new carb instead of the pro form body, since the carb on the car at present is an Edelbrock. As for the vaccum I do not remember what it is and I don't have a vaccum gauge yet. The vaccum I do have is very low due to the large cam. It's just barely enought to work the power dics brakes.
