Well it looks like my stock starter is finally going. The bearings are making a grinding noise after initial start up.
I'm looking for suggestions on a new one. What brand do you recommend for a 9.2 comp BB engine with 168 tooth flywheel?

I've always liked Tilton and Powermaster.

I've used the standard TCI mini starter on my 780 hp 509 without a problem, and now have the 9400 Powermaster on my 540.

Sean,
If you look up DB Electrical on the internet, they have mini starters for $55. I have a couple of them, work great! You can get them off ebay also.
