We had this scheduled for the 12th but because of mother nature she ruined everything. Some people wanted to have it the 12th and take a small loss and some wanted to use the rain date or cancel it completely because we had to pay a janitor doubletime to come out and be there the day and we were going up against 4 other shows in our area. That just about did away with any hopes of raising money for the music program. Through some reassuring from us the board parents took a vote and we went with the rain date. Remember none of these people know anything about car shows except for Pat and me.
It was a great day. We had 38 cars show up today, the refreshment stand was busy all day and the 50/50 did pretty good considering, Pat did a great job getting door prizes from local businesses, about 40-50 total with the last group given being the high dollar gift certificates. A couple of local businesses donated money to help with the janitor bill. The student turnout was great and they helped out alot. But most importantly we built up some credibility with the people who came. And believe me we Thanked them greatly for coming out and supporting us.
We probably broke even or raised alittle but next year we know people will come back and hopefully it will grow.
