I met up with Jim yesterday to pick up his dial indicator for indexing the bellhousing. turns out he had insomnia the other night and set up 3 different ways to install the indicator (with picture)so that the face was outward and readable without having to use a mirror to see it at different rotation points.

I would like to see his dial indicator. I tried to locate one from my local snap on dealer and he was unable to find one. If you have a part number or picture that would help. thanks

jim didn't use the one from his friend. jim's had changable pins and was able to get his small enough to fit in the hole in the back of the bell. I'll try and get the part number from him. I'll aslo scan a pic he gave me on how to use his setup.

A test indicator would work well for this. Machinists and toolmakers use them extensivelly.

Sean,
There is nothing wrong with sitting in you car making noises and pretending that you are driving it. I have been doing that for the last month and I have about another month before I can drive it again.
